Like nonfiction books, poetry collections require extra time and care to reproduce them with exact line and stanza breaks the poet desires. This design option also includes up to 25 illustrations.

Children's Picture Book Design
Children’s picture books are special projects. Each children’s picture book design option includes consultation, design of the cover and interior, and one proofing round with 25 corrections for the cover and 25 corrections for interior file, up to 32 pages. Additional corrections are $1.25 each. Following book production, the author will receive an archive copy of the print-ready file(s). Projects will include a single cover file and single interior file for paperback, hardcover, or hardcover books with dust jackets unless otherwise specified. Be sure to ask about board book possibilities too. Each of our children’s picture book design options require authors to provide Redbrush with a manuscript and graphical illustration files ready to be laid out and designed for production.

eBook Conversion and Design
Redbrush’s eBook conversion and design services recommend starting from fully designed cover and interior files. Authors expecting to start with one or more eBook editions should expect initial design costs similar to those for print-ready files. As with all of our services, we’re happy to review any project and confirm what options and services are the best fit for the author’s goals.
Fiction and prose-style Nonfiction eBook
Novels, memoirs, and other books written in prose, paragraph form can easily be converted to popular eBook formats. Because they take less time to convert, QC, and finalize, these types of books cost less to produce.

Post-Design Services
Index Preparation by software*
If it is determined an index is appropriate for a book, there are several indexing options to choose from. One of the most common indexing options is a software-based term search to identify the proper nouns in the book. The authors will generate an exceptions list of items not to be indexed. The desired index will be designed and added to the book’s interior file.

An editor will be selected based on the genre and subject matter of the book. They’ll read the work and generate an index based on the book’s content and goals.

Image and illustration work can be time- and labor-intensive. We’re happy to estimate the length of time to make desired changes and edits to illustrations or images the author provides.
